(Apologies for the lower picture/color quality. I could only grab these with my iPhone camera using shoddy department store lighting.)
Upon swatching, Red Velvet immediately reminded me of a certain Chanel red that was recently discontinued. I wanted to swatch them side by side for you, but unfortunately the Chanel counter did not have a tester I could use. I can't attest to Red Velvet's wear time as compared to Chanel Dragon, but I can definitely say the color and finish is very similar when worn on the lips. *update: my pal @ultimatemakeup tweeted me saying the lasting power is amazing and it leaves a lovely stain after. Now I can't wait to get my hands on it.
While beautiful (and should be considered in the permanent collection), unfortunately the lip creme does not taste like its namesake. It is completely scent and taste free, non-sticky, and as expected, a pleasure to wear.
While the Neiman Marcus Beauty Event officially happens from February 23 to March 4, I was told you will be able to pre-sell the items you want as early as February 21. As always, if you don't have a Neiman Marcus near you, my lovely friends Traci Dastou and Shawn Kelly of Neiman Marcus Boston will be happy to help. You can reach them at 617-536-3660 x2111. Tell them I sent you and they'll be extra nice, I promise!
