Lipstick Bandits: Vamp

I swear we've been planning for this topic since July. Larie and I have certainly been through every. vamp. lipstick we could get our hands on to find the perfect one. I thought I've already found mine in Chanel Rouge Allure Rouge Noir, but who ever said I could only have one?

The other lipstick in question is Le Métier de Beauté Kona Lipstick, a deep burgandy plum.

Smiley picture! (Well, I was actually laughing at the camera here)

I have been known to cheat in my Bandit assignments, but this time it's out of necessity! Whether it's the cold weather or I'm not rigorous enough with my lip balm application, my lips have been peeling so badly I look like I have lip dandruff.

Suffice to say, dark lipstick on patchy lips isn't the best scene, but I found Le Métier de Beauté La Belle Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss to be a great topper for vamps. The sheer sparkly brown (don't be fooled by the swatch below, it's really sheer when on the lips) deepens the base shade just a little, and in some cases, make it look just right.

L-R: Kona, La Belle, MUFE #13C

Le Métier de Beauté Kona and La Belle can be found at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and of course, Bergdorf Goodman.

On to the best part of Lipstick Bandit days! Make sure you check out what my fellow masked cohorts are sporting:

Full disclosure: This entry contains sample products sent by PR or the manufacturer for editorial consideration.

  7. Holy god D: That gloss is the most gorgeous thing I have seen all month -- any chance I can bug you to do a lip swatch of it (on its own) sometime? Because I think I need.

Not sure how I'm going to get LMdB up in Canada, but what kind of beauty blogger would I be if I let something as trivial as availability stop me? :P

  8. Okay wow. Where the hell did that gloss come from and WHY didn't I know about it?! I second Rae's request: can you swatch the gloss all alone? I also need. Badly.

  12. Damn it! I told Larie how jealous I am of her ability to wear these colours, and now I see you ---it's driving me crazy! My colouring doesn't always lend itself to wearing dramatic shades like this, but I'm not giving up: I'll find a way to make it work on me too. I love all your colour choices - as if anything would ever dare look bad on you, lol! And now I'm dying to see how different my original Rouge Noir lipstick is to the newer version!

  13. Hi Xiao,
Don't get me wrong, I adore your "Blue Steel" non-smiley, you can certainly rock that, but whenever you post your smiley picture, I always thought you have such a lovely, nice smiley face, I wish I see it more often; v. girl-next-door-ish "-)
In any case, nice job with the vampy lips, love 2x the lipsticks + gloss on you!
